WHO IS
FRANK LAMPHERE?
Frank Lamphere is a talented and charismatic singer possessing a smooth yet
powerful baritone. A veritable mixture of Dean Martin, Jack Jones, Frank
Sinatra, with a sprinkling of Buddy Greco (for those in the know). Not "just
a singer" but an all around entertainer who can equally bring the house down
with his quick wit as he does with a thrilling high note. One thing that
truly separates Frank from many of his contemporaries is his ability to
"swing". This cannot be faked! Either a singer has it or he doesn't! Most
don't! It's that innate ability for a singer to truly feel the rhythm or
pulse of a song and to either direct it or go with it. It's the reason you
can dance perfectly while a particular singer does his thing versus another
singer who "messes you up". One more noteworthy fact is that Frank has a
repertoire of over 2000 songs, which is one of the largest of any performer in the
country. Most of the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin catalogue and most
standards can be performed.
Frank Lamphere has had great success performing in many restaurants and
nightclubs. Major highlights include:
The Flame of Countryside on the real Route 66. For a year Frank was the
hired vocalist with the renowned Johnny Gabor Trio. He frequently performs
with his own trio to standing room only crowds at the popular jazz venue
Green Dolphin Street. On Friday nights in 2003-2004 Frank fronted the jazz
quartet at the "5" star, Peninsula Hotel on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. He
has also performed in numerous concerts, including the Jimmy Dorsey big band
tribute at the Performing Arts Center of the College of DuPage.
Frank Lamphere is no stranger to the recording studio. His first project, an
enthusiastically received demo, was followed in 2002 by a full blown
recording project of 13 songs. "Ain't Love A Kick" with all the lyrics
written by the great lyricist Sammy Cahn, has received national and
international airplay.

"Your
music was timeless and will remain in our hearts forever"
- Dennis & Lorise
"Thanks for putting on a great show and for the fantastic of your group"
- Rick
"Just thought we'd take the opportunity to thank you one more time for the
sensational job
you and the band did at our anniversary party at Old Orchard Country Club on
January 15th.
We're still getting calls and messages about how great the music was that
night. And people
are still waxing amazed at the quality of the work, both your singing (and
emceeing), and the
absolutely terrific players you had. Indeed even the facility's bartender
pulled me aside at the
end of the night to thank me, for having you gentlemen to play. Turns out
she's a serious jazz
lover and was veritably sent to heaven by the music. Her comment: "You
wouldn't believe the
junk I have to stand here and listen to every week... thank you for bringing
these guys here."
I don't think it could be said any better than that. On top of all that, you
were most pleasant and
professional to work with and we're looking forward to doing it again."
