Bios:

Yu-Chieh Lee, Viola
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Yu-Chieh Lee received her Bachelor of Music Performance degree in National Taiwan Normal University and her Master degree in New York University, where she studied with Prof. Stephanie Baer.

Ms. Lee is an avid chamber and orchestra musician. She has performed with many of Taipei's orchestras and participated in numerous contemporary music premieres and recordings with many young composers. She is the former principal violist of the National Taiwa Normal University New Music Orchestra (2008-2011) and National Taiwa Normal University Symphony Orchestra (2010-2011). Currently, she is a performing member of Yin Chi Symphony Orchestra and the principal violist of Taipei Chamber Philharmonic.

Yu-Chieh Lee won the Taipei City Music Competition in 2003 and 2005. She was a recipient of the J. E. & B. Collins Music Scholarship (2012-2013), NYU Special Music Fund (2011-2012), the NTNU 64th Presidential Award, and YAMAHA Music Scholarship for young musician (2003).

Beyond music, Yu-Chieh Lee is also active in other related fields. She won the best actress award of the English Theater Competition in high school and the most creative prize for the 1st Free Land Photography Competition. She is involved in a blog, “Notes of the Wayfarers,” which won the 1st prize of the Global Chinese Arts Blog Competition in 2011. In addition, she is the former administrative director of National Taiwan Normal University Symphony Orchestra and currently serving as the theatric director of the Taiwan Viola Chamber Orchestra.



Brittany Ryan Dagro, Cello
Brittany Dagro is on the Adjunct Cello Faculty at NYU. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and her Master of Music degree from New York University – The Steinhardt School, where she studied with her mentor, Marion Feldman. She was recently accepted into the Post Baccalaureate Advanced Certification Program for Music Education at Queens College. Brittany started her musical training at the age of eight on Long Island, New York. Ms. Dagro started giving solo performances located on Long Island at 12 years old. Additional studies were with David Geber, Maureen Hynes, and Carol Purdy.

Ms. Dagro has been and continues to be an avid orchestral and chamber musician. Brittany made her solo debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as a winner of the ATML Young Musicians Concert Competition in May 2013. She is the former Principal Cellist of the New York Youth Symphony, under Ryan McAdams during the 2009-2010 season at Carnegie Hall. She has also held Principal positions in the Long Island Youth Symphony in 2004-05 and the Long Island Gemini Orchestra for the 2003-04 season. Ms. Dagro has played at Carnegie Hall thirteen times in her past fifteen years of experience, eleven of which were with the New York Youth Symphony, starting in 2006 under Paul Haas. She was principal cellist of the NYU String Orchestra that performed with the iconic band, The Eagles, at NYU Steinhardt's First Annual Gala in November 2013.

During her time at MSM, she played in various performing orchestras: The Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Jazz Orchestra, and Composers Orchestra. Conductors included Kent Tritle, George Manhanan, Justin DiCioccio, Kenneth Kiesler, David Gilbert and various guest conductors. While at the Manhattan School of Music and NYU, Brittany was a part of various chamber ensembles as well, including string quartets, piano trios, quartets, and quintets, and the Baroque Aria Ensemble. Her chamber coaches include Kenneth Cooper, Jeffrey Cohen, Wolfram Koessel, Oren Fader, and Steinhardt Artist Faculty member Karen Ritscher.



Gokce Erem, Violin
Turkish violinist Alev Gokce Erem was born August 4th,1983,Ýstanbul,Turkey. Her interest in the art of making music developed at a very early age,initially studying piano. After primary school in 1994, she continued her studies at I.T.U. Turkish Music State Conservatory . After a year, she auditioned to study classical music at Istanbul University State Conservatory and she was accepted as a violin student to Prof. Venyamin Warshavsky's class.

In September of 1999 and 2000 she attended masterclasses at International Music Academy of Ayvalýk and she got a chance to work and give concerts with Prof. Lukas David and Suna Kan.

A. Gokce Erem attended masterclasses in Germany, Schloss Kröchlendorf (Berlin) between 03.03.2001 and 11.03.2001. She worked there with Bela Papp and Prof. Ulrike Anima Mathe. In the meantime she participated various concerts actively.. She was accepted high school degree of Istanbul University of State Conservatory in 2003. She graduated from high school with an excellent degree in summer of 2007. She still continues studying&practicing violin with Venyamin Varsavsky.

She gave solo concerts at the conference hall of Istanbul University Faculty of Science and at Istanbul University State Conservatory. She still continues to give concerts with the various continuity of orchestras such as Cemal Resit Rey Symphony Orchestra, Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, the National Reinsurance Chamber Orchestra, Sisli Municipality Symphony Orchestra, the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Akbank Chamber Orchestra, Maltepe Municipality Symphony Orchestra, The Orkestrasion Chamber Orchestra.

She had an opportunity to work with the orchestras which led by Sascha Goetzel,Rengim Gökmen, Alexander Rahbari, Peter Gülke,Ibrahim Yazýcý, Cem Mansur,Gürer Aykal, Naci Ozguc, Michel Tabachnik, Nezih Seckin, Hakan Sensoy, Erol Erdinc, Emin Guven Yaslicam,Ingo Metzmacher,Vladimir Fedoseyev.

Successfully auditioning the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra's examination in 2006, she participated 1 (one) month tour in Nice, France in July 2007 with the orchestra. Along with famous conductors such as Jean-François Heisser, Phillippe Bender she also had an opportunity to accompany famous soloists such as Laurent Korcia, Pierre Amoyal, Thiery Amadi during the tour.. She participated RIAS Youth Orchestra's summer tour in 2008 (RIAS Youth Orchestra which was established in Berlin, has been continuing its works). She is still a member of this orchestra.

Passing succesfully Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra's (GMJO) audition in December 2008, she participated its tour in April 2009.There she had a great chance playing&meeting with great musicians,conductors and having the tour for one month all over Europe.. In the same year, in July, she took place at International Orchestra Institut Attergau's (IOIA),which is under the patronage of Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and in Co-operation with the institute for Wiener Klangstill in Salzburg.

Since July 2009, every summer she has been invited and taking place at IOIA orchestra and giving various concerts in Salzburg& Attersee.. A.Gökçe Erem has been continuing to work as a violinist at Istanbul State Modern Folk Music Ensemble since December 2007. At the same time she graduated from master of music degree of Venyamin Varsavsky's violin class with an excellent degree at Istanbul University of State Conservatory in June 2011.

Currently residing in New York City, Ms. EREM continues her career at NYU-Steinhardt with a scholarship in performance program for the Advanced Certificate Diploma. She is giving concerts with NYU Steinhardt Orchestra(as the concertmaster) ,One World Symphony (As Principal 2.Violin) , The Chelsea Symphony Orchestra. She performed with Tony award winning singer John Lloyd Young (who is also the main character from the musical Jersey Boys) at Café Carlyle in a series of concerts with a very important musician&producer Tommy Faragher. She is playing in chamber music groups with the most talented musicians living in NYC.

As foreign languages , she speaks English & German fluently..

Ashley Re, Violin
Violinist Ashley Re is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Music, where she completed her Bachelor's Degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education as a student of Dr. Gerald Fischbach. She recently completed her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance at New York University under the tutelage of Gregory Fulkerson.

As a freelance musician in the Maryland/DC and now New York area, Ashley has performed at such renowned venues as Carnegie Hall, Beacon Theatre, Symphony Space, Town Hall, and Strathmore. She has performed with The Eagles, Glenn Frey, and singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens, and has been coached by members of the Guarneri String Quartet and Mendelssohn Piano Trio. Ashley has been invited to attend the Aldeburgh Music Festival Hesse Student Scheme in England, Chamber Music in Grantham, Hartwick College Music Festival and Institute, Stony Brook Summer Music Festival, and Protégé International.
